Funeral service will be on Thursday 17th August, 2023 at 1:00 pm
at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, St. George
and interment at the Mt. Airy Cemetery

who passed away on Sunday 16th July, 2023
at the age of 90.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pearl Dorothy Mitchell, affectionately known as cousin Pearly and Ma Pearl, who peacefully departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at the age of 90. She resided in Mt. Airy, St. Paul’s, and was the beloved daughter of the late Iris La Touché and Wilson Mitchell.

Left to mourn her loss are her seven children: Louise Redhead and Julien Mitchell in Grenada, Derrick Mitchell in Canada, and Gloria Arnold, Adrian Mitchell, Kiron Mitchell, and Patricia Ezenne in the USA. She was also the mother of the late Jean Cadore.

Pearl will be fondly remembered by her sons-in-law, Kester Redhead in Grenada and Pastor Godwin Ezenne in the USA, as well as her daughters-in-law, Ermine Mitchell and Mavis Hyacinth Mitchell in the USA, and Sherlann Mitchell in Grenada.

Her legacy lives on through her 23 grandchildren, Laureen, Terron, Lerry, Leon, Melissa, Daneel, Malikah, Leon, Tracey, Sarana, Steffen, Sherwin, Shane, Trisha, and Tevin in Grenada, Nigel, Michelle, Kurt, Ashley, KJ, and Lystra in the USA, and Derron and Danisha in Canada.

In addition, Pearl leaves behind 33 great-grandchildren, including Shiem, Sadi, Sarah, Ava, Tristan, Taylan, Shane Jr., Stephon, in Grenada, Cameron, Jordan, Justin, Ryan, Loo Loo, Kosi, Savannah, Anya, and RJ in the USA, and two great-great-grandchildren, including Camron, also residing in the USA.

She is survived by her five sisters: Sylvia, Margaret, Winifred, Wilma and Shirlin and three brothers: Keith Mitchell in the USA, Michael Senator Mitchell, and Guy Fox Mitchell in Grenada. She will also be dearly missed by her nephews, Victor Gittens and Chadee Phillip, residing in the USA, Delon in the UK, and Cuthbert Mitchell in Grenada. Along with her grandnieces and nephews, including Joey and Jason gittens in the US.

Pearl was a cherished godmother to Tamarah Mathlin, Tracy Celestine, Murella Bishop, Debbie Alexis, Carlyle, Ameal, and Allan Cadore.

Among her closest friends were Inez Robinson and family of Creighton, St. Paul’s, Ms. Everline Crawford, Carlton and Phyllis Cadore, the John family of Mt. Parnassus, Norbert Arnold, and members of the St. Paul’s Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She leaves behind numerous other friends and relatives, including Hazel Anne and Patricia Pascal, Murella Hagley, Ms. Greta, Ms. Redhead, Una Andall, Kathie Ann Andall, Debbie Mark, and members of the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Mothers Union. Ashmore and Sonia Scott, The Benoit family, as well as the Latouche and Mitchell family, will cherish the memories of their time spent with Pearl.

Special thanks to her devoted caretakers, Sandra Benoit who provided unwavering support and care during her later years.

In her life, Pearl touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.

May her soul rest in eternal peace
